This morning the kids practiced reading and writing sight words. During morning circle we continued our ABBC pattern on the calendar. The kids also identified numbers 1-50. We blended words that ended with -ock. The kids read sock, lock, rock, shock, flock, clock, block, and smock.
Our story today was "Froggy Goes to Camp" by Jonathon London. Froggy goes to camp Run-a-muck. He enjoys hiking, archery, swimming, kayaking and making a campfire. After reading the story we made a list of things we need to bring camping and things we can do while camping. We need to bring a sleeping bag, swim suit, flash light and changes of clothes. We can roast marshmallows, build a campfire, go swimming and hiking while camping.
For art the kids made a campfire. First they used brown paint to make the sticks. Then we painted their hands red, orange, and yellow to make the fire. We worked on lowercase letters during writing and wrote in our journals. After eating lunch we sang songs about going camping and sitting by the campfire.
Tomorrow we will learn about another fun activity for the spring and summer. It will also be Ms.
Michelle's last day!
