We also had music class today! We started with our hello song. Then the kids sand "Shake Our Sillies Out." We had to shake, jump, and wiggle all our sillies out! The kids sang the "My Favorite Color" song with shakers and "I Like ____." This time the kids shared a food they really like to eat. We also practiced our ABC's with the alphabet song. Before we sang goodbye to our friends we sang "Happy and You Know It." We practiced being happy, sad, surprised and excited.
Our story today was "Is Your Mama a Llama?" The little llama was looking for his mama and he asked his friend bat, seal, cow and many others but couldn't find her. At the end of the story he found another llama who helped him find his mama. After reading the story we talked about how animals have families just like people. We reviewed the different names we have for grown up animals and baby animals. We learned dog-puppy, cat-kitty, sheet-lamb, pig-piglet, goat-kid, and cow-calf.
For art we continued to talk about animals families. The grown ups are big and the babies are little. The kids each got a dog, cat, sheep, cow, puppy, kitten, lamb, and calf. The kids had to sort the animals by big and little and then glue them onto their paper. It was a great activity to reinforce the new vocabulary we learned during language circle.
