Daddies and Mommies

Today was a great day for all the kids! Everyone followed directions and listened to the teachers! This morning there were frogs in the touch and feel pool. The kids made them jump and hop into the water. We also sang 5 Green and Speckled Frogs. During morning circle we talked about the calendar and practiced all our new friends names. We sang a song to look for our friends and talk about how we are feeling.
Class-"Where is ______?, Where is _______?"
Kid- "Here I Am, Here I Am"
Class- "How are you this morning?"
Kid- "Very good, I thank you."
Class- "Wave hello, Wave hello"
Our story today was "Daddies do it Different" by Alan Lawrence Sitomer. Daddies sure do things differently than mommies! Daddies are sometimes silly when they give us a bath, brush our hair and make us dinner. The book talked about silly things daddies do that can be different than mommies. After reading the stories the kids shared things they like to do with their daddies. We like to read books, play football and go to the beach with daddies.

For art we made a hat for our dad or grandpa! The kids colored and decorated the hat. Then they picked stickers of things they like to do with them to add to the hat. Everyone was very excited to take the hat home and show it off.

Instead of writing in our journals today we wrote a get well card to Tim. The kids told him to "Feel Better" and that "We Miss You." They drew pictures on the inside to cheer Tim up. Theo, Tim's brother, took the cards home today so he could give them to Tim. We also practiced writing the letter "F" today.

It was a busy day and time flew by. Tomorrow we will have our 2nd music class. Excited to see what we will learn!
