Go Away Germs!

Today was Tuesday so Ms. Michelle came to work with us! She helped us prepare and train for the Olympics. First we waved scarves around and did a snowflake dance. Next, the kids walked on a balance beam and had to jump down the rope ladder.

The last activity was a mini-yoga work out. We used our bodies to make a mountain, fly like superman and make a table. Next week we will start our first Olympic event...skating!
Our story today was "Germs, Germs, Germs!" by Bobbi Katz. Germs live everywhere! When germs get into our body they make us sick. We learned ways to stay healthy and keep the germs away. It is important to wash our hands, brush our teeth, take a bath, clean our scraps, and eat healthy food. We also talked about the importance of our cough catcher. We used pom-poms to see what happens when we cough and don't cover our mouth. When our mouth is not covered the pom-poms went all over the floor...but when we used our cough catcher they all went into our sleeve and not on our neighbor.

For art today we made signs to remind us to wash our hands. First the kids glued a hand onto their paper. Then they picked lots of germs to put onto their hand. This will remind us to always wash our hands with soap, keep our fingers out of our nose, and our fingers out of our mouth.
