This morning we used the do-a-dot stampers to make pictures. During our morning circle we talked about the calendar. W counted only 10 more days until Thanksgiving! The kids also continued our AAB pattern. We learned some new everyday words....big, little, the, and, help. The kids reviewed the sound brother pairs. Then they each picked a letter out of the mystery box. They told the class their letter, its sound and a word that started with the letter.
Our story today was "Police Officers on Patrol." In the story it shared how police officers help the community. They can direct traffic so there isn't a crash. The police can help a lost boy find his mom. Police officers also catch robbers & bad guys. After reading the story we shared everything we know and learned about police officers. It is important to follow the rules and law so we don't get in trouble.
For art/science we learned about our fingerprints. Everyone has fingerprints and they are all different. The kids each had a turn putting their fingerprints on their paper. Once they were done they looked very closely and could see the tiny lines on our fingers.
We ended the day writing in our journals about police officers and eating lunch. Tomorrow we will continue to talk about the police...we even have a special visitor!
